New name for “The Carousel”

At the sessions on 3rd December, The Carousel decided it was a good time to announce that they are now to be known as “The Penny Red” – nice name!

Apparently this is something to do with a name-clash with some Amercian rock band which I’m sure doesn’t help!

Good luck to them – they are awesome.  Personally, I don’t mind what they are called, so long as they come and play for us again.

Yes, Reg Meuross.

The Dreamed And The Drowned album cover

Can’t quite believe it but Reg Meuross is coming to play at Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions on 3rd December, as part of a tour to promote his new album, “The Dreamed and the Drowned”

Reg is widely recognised as one of the UK’s most talented and respected singer–songwriters – is it sure to be a very special night.

There will be a full write-up on him coming soon but for now, take a look at him performing at the Royal Albert Hall last year.  Enjoy …

Newcomer Henry Green plays an awesome floorspot

This is what it’s all about.  Local singer songwriter, Henry Green, came over on Saturday for a short floorspot.

Everyone loved it … I think we’ll be seeing more of him!!  Take a look at this:

Another blinding Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions

Thanks to all the performers who came over and playing on Saturday night.

A quality night of music …

Charli Shephard on BBC Radio

Charli Shephard was on BBC Wiltshire Introducing on Thursday night.

A lovely interviewed by Marie Lennon and 2 blinding live performances from Charli

Listen again here (until 10th Nov 2011)

(Fast forward to 18min and 1 hour, 11 min to hear Chari)

Nov 5th floor spots

We are delighted to confirm 3 floor spots so far for November 5th.

They are …

Jessica Vincent – will be playing a couple of solo songs.  She will be playing with her full band ‘The Carousel‘ at Malmesbury Acoustic on 3rd December.

Henry Green – a local musician who heard about us through Charli and then sent us this – – Can’t wait!!

Way Out West – also playing next month.  They are sure to entertain and surprise you:

Let us know if you would like to play at Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions or if there is anyone you know, who you would like to see play live in Malmesbury.

Charli Shephard promotes new album

Sherston’s Charli Shephard will be performing at Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions on Saturday November 5th.

Charli has recently released her outstanding self-written, self-produced album and will be performing stripped-back versions of some of those songs as well as some of her (and our) favorites.

It was awesome – thank you xx

The first ever Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions was more than anyone could have expected.  I’m sure all members of the audience were blown away – I know I was !

See videos from the night HERE

Properly done his back in – falling down some stairs on holiday!  Nasty it is.  Potential broken ribs territory.  This means John will unfortunately not be enjoying the Malmesbury Acoustic setup as lifting is not an option.

But he WILL be playing.  Oh, yes.  He may have to sit down for his performance but with a few painkillers and a comfy cushion on his rider, he’s there.

Fair play for soldiering on, John.  That’s rock and roll, that is.

The Drystones to open

We are delighted the The Drystones will be the first act to play at Malmesbury Acoustic Sessions on Saturday. They are sure to get the whole thing started in good, hearty spirit.

This kind of thing …. (please excuse the naughty feedback right at start!)
